Road to ArcFest 2025 | Part 4
40K league in Werribee, Malys Kickstarter, filthy Death Guard and more
Good evening!
Today I worked on my Bubonic Boys at a Melbourne Figure Painters Collective meeting (The Gaming Arena).
With only five days left to work on this ArcOpen entry – the pressure is on.
In the meantime I need to sort out a matte black display base.
40K league in Werribee
… Join us for a six-round matched play league, using the current mission pack, beginning on May 27th.
Format: Whatever the current matched play mission pack is – if it's Pariah Nexus we will use that, if it's 2024-2025 we will use that. If the new pack releases during the first half of the league, we will switch over when we switch points (if viable).
Rounds 1 and 3 are Incursion (1000 points). Rounds 4 to 6 are Strike Force (2000 points)
Cost: $40
It is mighty tempting to run a 1K Crusher Stampede and a 2K Death Guard Flyblown Host. But then I’ve also just scored the Aeldari codex and there is a Wraithknight in my collection that is primed, waiting to be finished, so I have options.
Just gotta negotiate with my family to see if I can officially participate …

Malys Kickstarter has launched
Do you like card games? This video game looks so good I’ve already backed it.
Shatterpoint!
It has been a while between events and I do feel a disturbance in the Force.
Guards of Traitor’s Toll battle report
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is so hot right now. And it got me thinking about those guard NPCs. If only someone created a tabletop simulation of what a day on duty would be like for them.
Well, in this ruleset, you are the law. And the town is quite dynamic.
The Hobby Homies attempt the tutorial scenario for Guards of Traitor’s Toll and it’s a fun time.
Nurgle’s filth are eating good
This past week has been a buffet of stratagem soups, detachment durians and Mortarion morsels for devout Death Guard players.
Rather than analyse the leaks, I’ll leave it to Vanguard Tactics to break the official tome down.
Meet the WARSURGE team at ArcFest
The Three Brothers Grim – Richard, Nic and Brad – are lovely gentlemen who have made an awesome universal tabletop wargame where you can use whatever is in your mini collection, including LEGO, to play.
They’re also exhibiting at ArcFest which is the perfect place to see what they’re all about.
The app for creating your own custom WARSURGE units is free – download it.
You can also learn more about WARSURGE in this interview.
