What did you think of the latest WARSURGE interview? That game system, developed by three Aussie brothers, is fascinating. I see potential for a whacky participation-style event where people bring along their favourite minis, smash out stats on the app and wage war.

What would you bring to the tabletop for WARSURGE? For me, it has to be the apes in boiler suits (Eureka Miniatures).

In recent weeks I’ve also had the pleasure of chatting with Blog for the Blood God and Duncan Rhodes.

Adeptus and Bubonic Astartes clash

Finally! Two new factions have joined the fray in Home Invasion – our very own Warhammer 40K narrative crusade at home.

In a small 500-point combat patrol encounter, the Space Marines and Death Guard battled to recover precious relics from a ruined base.

While both sides sustained heavy losses, the codex-compliant forces successfully emptied all the vaults and won.

Typhus with his blob of poxwalkers cleaved their way through an infernus squad, while the hefty terminators clobbered seven plague marines.

And how scary are those Sternguard veterans with their sustained hits and devastating wounds? Their firepower contributed to the downfall of my daemon-engines.

Overall, that was a satisfying match. ‘Empty the Vaults’ featured a mission rule where the defender (Space Marines) would randomly remove an objective market from the second battle round onwards. It was just my luck that my infected objectives were disappearing from the map over the course of the skirmish.

What does this mean for the broader conflict on Slime World?

Currently, the Aeldari have repelled the Tyranid swarm at every turn and have established a beachhead.

As for what happens next, we’ll need to roll more dice and find out.
